If you like to walk slowly and observe the world with attentive eyes, this is the right place. The Castro Verde area is one of the most important steppe areas in the country, and is home to protected species such as the great bustard, the little bustard, or the lesser kestrel.
Follow the trails of the “Campo Branco”, with gentle slopes, and discover the flora, the fields, the fallow lands – and the serene rhythm of the Alentejo villages.

Explore the surroundings of Monte Vale by bike: there are options for adults and children. Pedaling here is to feel the warm wind on your skin, hear only the sound of the wheels and slowly immerse yourself in the undulating and golden landscape that defines this region.

At Monte Vale, we invite you to take it slow, explore the paths and pick (with your hands) ripe fruit, aromatic herbs and vegetables that the land generously offers. A simple gesture, connecting to the essentials.

The magic of water. Dives, sun, and silence.

Next to the Monte dam, you will find a river beach with sand, sun loungers, and straw hats. The perfect setting to relax to the sound of nature or to simply lay out a towel and let time pass by. If you want, you can also try canoeing or boat rides – we have everything you need available: life jackets, equipment, and direct access through a walkway.

Fishing is possible in the Monte Vale Dam, where largemouth bass and crayfish live. Rods and all accessories are available free of charge for guests. An invitation to patience, focus, and connection with the present moment.

Nights in Alentejo have a very unique light. When the sky clears, there is magic that can be seen and felt. We have binoculars available for astronomical observations – just make sure the clouds stay at home and the sky is clear.

Jeep tours for those who want excitement, with a wide view.

If you want to explore the region in a different way, venture on a jeep tour through the Alentejo plains. It’s about 60 minutes of pure nature, excitement, and breathtaking horizons. Reservation required and additional cost may apply.
