Monte do Salto
A few minutes from Monte Vale, you will find Monte do Salto – a simple and genuine place, where time runs slowly. Here, you can taste typical dishes of Alentejo cuisine, in a restaurant that operates exclusively by reservation or order.

Ermida de Nossa Senhora de Aracelis
Located about 1 km from Monte Vale, erected on a high point of the plain, the Ermida de Nossa Senhora de Aracelis is much more than a place of worship — it is a spiritual viewpoint over the Alentejo. Called by many the “Altar of the Skies”, legend has it that from here you can see six other hermitages, between the Alentejo and the Algarve.
It is also a privileged spot for bird watching, such as the great bustard, the little bustard, or the cranes.
Every year, on the last weekend of August, the traditional pilgrimage takes place, where the farmers of the region gather to ask for protection for the harvest.
